Showers, Dolls and Baseball

We had a wonderful, but very busy weekend!! Saturday we had our second shower. It was so much fun :) I wanted to thank everyone that joined us to celebrate!! Also a big thanks to my mom and dad for hosting the shower. It is so great to see how excited everyone is to meet our little boy. Boston has so much stuff already. His little room is really starting to fill up!!

After leaving the baby shower, we went home for a quick nap and then we were off to a costume party. Winston was a drunk priest and I was a pregnant nun :) Unfortunately we weren't very original. By the time we got to the party, we were the third priest and nun combo. We did have a really great time. I ended up spending most of the night in the game room watching the Red Socks beat the Rockies... GO RED SOX!!

Sunday morning we had a visit from our Aunt Cathy, Uncle Pete and Cassie. It was great to see all of them. They came to see Boston's room and our new deck... thanks to the previous late night, they also got to see my very dirty house. Thankfully, they love us and didn't mind the mess. We had a great visit. Cathy gave Winston some great massage tips which I am excited to try out :)

After our visit, we headed straight to New Braunfels for lunch with my parents, Pop and Thelma. We had some great BBQ!! Pop and Thelma gave us some cute little things for Boston. He got a sweet "Baby's 1st Christmas" bear and also a blue eyed doll dressed in a little blue outfit. Once we got home from our lunch, we decided to introduce the "baby" to our dogs, Brody and Lola. At first all they wanted to do was smell him and make sure he wasn't food. We kept telling them that he was a baby and they needed to be careful. As expected Brody lost interest in baby Boston within a few minutes (he has a slight case of ADD). Lola on the other hand sat very calmly as we held the baby. Once Winston put "baby Boston" in his bouncer seat, she laid down right beside the seat and didn't leave his side all night. At one point I picked up the baby and brought him to lay with me on the couch; Brody was briefly interested again. Lola just got up and came to lay in front of the baby and I on the couch. She was very sweet and seemed to be watching and protecting him all night. I fell asleep with the baby soon after and Winston woke me up later so that we could watch the Red Sox sweep the Rockies in a 4 to 3 win!!! Someday I am sure that Boston will love to hear the story of how lucky he was for the Boston Red Sox... helping them to win the World Series :)
